Training on Value Addition of Agricultural Commodities

Date: 3rd Quarter of 2025

Details: This upcoming training aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers, processors, and agricultural stakeholders in transforming raw agricultural products into high-value food and non-food items. Participants will learn various value-adding techniques, product development, and proper packaging and labeling to improve marketability and profitability. The training also promotes local enterprise development and supports sustainable agriculture by maximizing the potential of farm commodities.

Training on Postharvest and Processing of Tilapia

Date: 3rd Quarter of 2025

Details: This training is designed to equip fisherfolk, aquaculture practitioners, and stakeholders with essential knowledge and skills on proper postharvest handling and value-adding techniques for tilapia. It will cover best practices in cleaning, processing, packaging, and storage to ensure product quality and safety. Participants will also learn innovative methods to extend shelf life and explore market opportunities for processed tilapia products, ultimately aiming to reduce postharvest losses and increase income.

From Root to Riches: Ube Production and Value-Added Processing Training

Date: September 11-12, 2025

Details: This training aims to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of farmers, processors, and agricultural workers in the efficient cultivation, harvesting, and postharvest handling of ube (purple yam). Topics will include improved cultural management practices, pest and disease control, harvesting techniques, and proper handling and storage methods to preserve quality and reduce losses. The session will also explore value-adding opportunities to increase profitability and market potential of ube-based products.
