What is Agri-Infohub?

Agi-Infohub is an innovative platform that can reach farmers at the grassroots level more effectively connecting farmers to better market leads and facilitate their access to technological information, counselling, training, storage, transportation, seeds and farm inputs. This will also help facilitate utilization of the numerous R&D outputs developed by research and academic institutions that had long been shelved and rendered inaccessible to farmers, women and youth engaged in agriculture.

This Agro-Information Hub will provide farmers with the right tools and new knowledge, modern farming technologies, agricultural and market information and climate resilient production technologies that will cushion farmers against adverse effects of climate change and improve their productivity and farm income.

The project will be located at the Farmers’ Innovation Center of the Provincial Demonstration Farm in Barangay Merit, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.

The DA will be tapped for the hardware requirement of the project, particularly for the computer units and the reliable internet connection that will be installed in the computer hub and android phones that will be distributed to selected farmer associations for improved access to agricultural technologies

The DOST and academic institutions like UPLB and MinSCAT will be tapped for the development of information materials on modern agricultural technologies, climate smart agriculture and organic agriculture, and other relevant agricultural information.

The Provincial Government will provide for the space and infrastructure requirement for the agri-iformation hub and a team of IT personnel for the administration of the Agri-pedia, Agri chat and Agri forum activities.

The City and Municipal local government units will be responsible for the promotion of the use of the agri-info hub computer hardware support for the Municipal Agricultural Offices to ensure farmers’ access to the Agri-Info Hub.

These institutional arrangements will be concretized through MOA signing of all parties involved.
