The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAGO) never ceased to provide all necessary approach to continuously capacitate and strengthen the farmers’ organizations thus a Training on Levelling-Up Farmers’ Competency Towards Food Security was conducted at Calapan City and in the Municipality of Bongabong on November 19-20 and November 21-22, 2019, respectively.

ACO, Oriental Mindoro—In its continued effort to help the Indigenous People’s abaca farming livelihood in the upland areas, the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office recently conducted a Training Course on Harvesting, Grading and Classification of Abaca Fiber held on October 29-30, 2019 at Baco, Oriental Mindoro.

To encourage the transformation of idle lands into productive and income generating agricultural endeavor, the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAgO) conducted Training on Innovative Solutions in Harnessing Idle Lands for Food Security on October 8-9, 2019 at Caagutayan, San Teodoro.

The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office trains some 31 farmers on rice-based product processing held on October 1-3, 2019 at the Food Innovation Center, Mindoro State College Calapan City campus. The three-day training aims to promote value addition to maximize profitability and create successful agri-based enterprises.

2019 Sept

Rice and banana are the major commodities of Oriental Mindoro and along with calamansi is considered as the province’s top three agricultural products. Recognizing the potential of rice and banana for its wide array of promising value-added products, the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office pushed for farmers to engage on value-adding as an added income and livelihood opportunity.

2019 Sept

The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office conducted a two-day training on cacao, coffee and black pepper production on September 25 and 26, 2019 at Vencio’s Garden Hotel and Restaurant, Calapan City. The training was participated by 43 farmers engaged in the production of the aforementioned commodities.

To ensure that banana farmers will not run out of sources of quality planting materials, the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office conducted a training on Macropropagation and Good Agricultural Practices of Banana Production, this way farmers will have the knowledge and skills in producing their own banana planting materials.

With the growing concern for food security in the province, the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAgO) conducted Training on Edible Landscaping, aiming to teach and entice people into gardening. It was held on August 22-23, 2019 at Provincial Demonstration Farm, Merit, Victoria where it was attended by 50 participants composed of farmers, learning site/ farm tourism sites operator, and other interested individuals who wants to venture in farming.

The Philippine Army’s 203rd Infantry Brigade (Bantay Kapayapaan) sought the assistance of the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office in training their troops and community residents on the operations and maintenance of a vacuum fryer, an equipment used for processing of value added products of different commodities.

The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office conducted a workshop on fisheries monitoring and fish catch survey on August 13-15, 2019 at Parang Beach Resort, Calapan City.

Two fisherfolk association assisted by the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office has recently underwent a training on on Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP) on Food Product Processing on August 7 to 9, 2019 at Parang Beach Resort, Calapan City.

The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office (PAgO) conducted a Training on Farm Tour Guiding on July 30-31, 2019 at the Provincial Demonstration Farm, Merit, Victoria.

The Provincial Agriculturist’s Office conducted four-day training on Calamansi and Coconut Processing and Wine Production of Different Commodities on July 23-26, 2019 held at Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MINSCAT) Calapan City Campus.


2018 Dec

The Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro through the Provincial Agriculturist’s Office distributed various farm machineries and equipment to 36 farm organizations from all over the province on December 11, 2018 at the Bulwagang Panlalawigang, Provincial Capitol Complex, Calapan City.

Agri-Infohub is a platform that aims to reach farmers at the grassroots level more effectively connecting farmers to better market leads and facilitate their access to technological information, counselling, training, storage, transportation, seeds and farm inputs. This will also help facilitate utilization of the numerous R&D outputs developed by research and academic institutions that had long been shelved and rendered inaccessible to farmers, women and youth engaged in agriculture.
